CLAYGATE Railway Station
ABOUT CLAYGATE RAILWAY STATION
Claygate railway station is on the NGL line between Hinchley Wood and Oxshott and at 15m242y. It has 2 platforms which are adapted to manage 10 car trains. There are 2 main line running rails operating a mostly stopping service with interspersed fast trains. Platforms 1 is 204m and platform 2 is 208m long according to the sectional appendix.
The station is of old construction and the walking route between platforms is via an older style overbridge. There is sufficient trunking through the overbridge however this is dilapidated and should not be utilised in this project.
Much of the station platform area is served by high level tray work through the platform canopy and concourse area.
The current SISS equipment room is located in an external rack on platform 2. An additional cabinet may be installed in the mess room behind a waiting room on the same platform.
Station SISS wise the station has ANDUs on the respective platforms situated under the canopy.
ACCESS/EGRESS
Access to both platforms is via walk way from the entrance and platform via the overbridge.
NEAREST NODE/JUNCTION
The nearest fibre node is located up from platform 2.
Fibre Node 2105 @ 13m884y
NEAREST JOINT
The nearest copper joint is just off the up end of platform 2.
Fibre Joint @ 15m1022y
Copper Joint C2106 @ 15m151y
NODE INTERCONNECTION OPTIONS
The nearest node joint is not a long distance on the up line and would prove the more expensive of the twoproposed options. Alterntively a connection at the copper joint off the up of platform 2 would be less costly but may impact future proffing for data on the station.
...if interconnecting at the existing fibre joint
The joint is 884y on the up and there is tidy SCT (surface concrete troughing) as far as the survey would permit. The route from the end of the platform 2 would through the platform pits to the building on platform 2 where an additional rack could be located in the mess room..
...if interconnecting to the copper joint
The copper joint is less than 100y on the up of platform 2 and would be a more simple cable pull. This is not the prefered option due to future proofing the station when updateing data speeds in the future.

SUMMARY
The proposed solution is to cable from the joint on platform 2 up side a distance 884y and connect this to a cabinet to be located in the station mess room.
