ESHER Railway Station
ABOUT ESHER RAILWAY STATION
Esher railway station is on the BML1 line between Surbiton and Hersham at 14m682y. It has 2 platforms which are adapted to manage 12 car trains. There are 4 main line running rails with the inner most fast and the outer operating a mostly stopping service with interspersed fast trains. Platform 1 is 248m and platform 4 is 249m long according to the sectional appendix. The island platform for platforms 2 & 3 is dilapidated and not used for public access.
The station is of fairly new construction and the walking route between platforms is via a new metal overbridge. There is sufficient duct route through the overbridge .
The SISS cabinet is located inside a Glasdon unit. There is little room inside the cabinet to dd additional equipment but if the rack was rationalised then room could be found. There is not adequate space inside the ticket office to locate additional equipment.
The SISS on the station consists of ANDUS on both platforms.
ACCESS/EGRESS
Access to platform 1 is via walk way from the entrance and platform 4 is accessed via the station approach. There is access to all platforms via a new metal overbridge.
